Wow, it's been a while! Look's like I gotta update you...
Wednesday: I had my soccer game against Eden Prairie at Wayzata High School. The first half of the game our team did great and the score at the half was 2 to 0. I guess we got cocky and lazy so we let 2 goals in at the second half. I'm very upset that we lost, but we are still undefeated and Michaela said they would be the hardest team we play at our level so I'm pretty excited about the rest of our season. Alexis scored the first goal of the game and it was a really pretty shot. I scored the second goal off a cross from our goalie/forward Christy and I was really happy. Both sides of grandparents came along with my mom, dad, and sister. Lily was also there to watch Alexis with Justin. I don't have soccer for a while because my coach is on vacation at a wedding in Mexico so I'm sad about that because I'm finally in the soccer groove and I'm getting pumped so taking a break like this makes my muscles hurt... :(
Thursday: Well not much happened other than a mini fight with Lucas and then an awkward night at CJs. Yeah... I'm not going to talk about it.... But I had fun being around Marissa, she is like my best friend.
Friday: Mr. Metzler sang his song that he wrote for the blue team and he did pretty good. He bashed the right people, except for Lucas, which he called a pouter which makes no sense to me. His verse about period 4 was mainly about me he said, "There's a girl in this class that thinks she's so hot, but all of her boyfriends are really not." Everybody started laughing and looked right at me. I wasn't embarassed or anything, I was laughing too. After school nothing much happened on my friday night other than going to Costco with my family (we got a BIG box of airheads, yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and watching Dear John, Valentines Day, and then falling asleep on my basement couch watching Bend it Like Beckham. Yeah.... Don't watch Valentines Day if you are in love with Bradley Cooper, your dreams of marriage with him die when you see him rub that guy from Grey's Anatommy (McSteamy) with a flower and stroking his face with pure love in his eyes. It's disgusting. I love the gays, I just hate seeing my soon-to-be husband doing that.
Saturday: I woke up at 5 on my basement couch and decided to go upstairs and slept till about 10. I tried tanning at about 11, but just sitting in the sun for a while got me too hot so I went inside. I got bored and as sad as it was, I was bored on the first morning of memorial day weekend. It's going to be a long summer. But eventually I came up with a plan and me and my sister went out boating on Lake Minnetonka with my grandparents! People might think it's lame, but I had a really good time. I missed the lake so much and the water was surprisingly inviting. I got super hot at Big Island though and had to crawl in. My sister was already in the water so I made her give me a piggy back ride to shore where I could walk without the water ruining my hair. My grandma, sister, and I decided to walk along the shore of Big Island. Big mistake. There's tons of logs and rocks so we were constantly running into things. But this walk was educational because we saw lots of drunks partying. We saw so many drunk guys and girls and it was only like 2 in the afternoon. Wow. They are going to have a rough morning. Most of them were drinking vodka, whiskey, etc straight from the bottle. Icky habit. One of them has to have alcohol posioning right now. What a great way to spend the weekend! haha or not... After being on the lake for a while we decided we should head back because we'd have to go through a lot of channels so it would take a while. When we got home Daddy made steak for himself, my grandma, Abby, and me :) my mom had chicken. We spent a lot of time on the deck and then me and Abby went to the park for a little bit and came back to find the adults in the same place we had left them in. We talked on the deck for a little while longer until I decided to go watch tv on the couch. I layed around for a while but then decided to go to bed early because I was exhausted.
Sunday (today) : I woke up pretty early after not sleeping well. I was the second person awake!!! I was pretty proud of that actually because usually I'm the last person. I layed around on the couch for a while until my dad and sister decided they wanted to go get haircuts. I went with because I wanted to get my eyebrows done. Bad idea. I came home an hour layer with a layer of skin missing above my left eye. Can you say ouch??? It hurt too bad to put neosporin on it so right now it's just kind of raw... but getting better! To get my mind off of the pain and shock over losing a valuable piece of myself my mom took me shopping to accessorize my 8th grade party outfit. I got Guess shoes at T.J. Maxx and I absolutely love them! I'm so tempted to wear them to school and show them off but I can't! All I can say is that they are gold sandals and possibly the greatest things ever. To go with these wonderful creations from God, I got a long hanging gold necklace from Target. The whole outfit looks GREAT! I can't wait to wear it on Friday! It's going to be so fun! After we got home from our excursion we just kind of hung out and then we decided to go out for dinner at Pizza Luce in Uptown even though we wanted to go to Joe's Garage downtown. It just wasn't a nice night to be on a rooftop deck or at the sculpture gardens. I was a little disappointed but hey, that's Minnesota for ya! Now I'm just hanging out and I'm pondering what movie I should watch on the couch tonight. I want to make plans with people for tomorrow so maybe I'll go do that.
I don't have too much going on this week so I'll either have a lot of time to blog or I'll have to blog about my doing nothingness. But I'll have a lot to say on Saturday after my party!
Goal for Tomorrow: Go outside and enjoy the sunshine :)

I'm not afraid :)
Wow busy couple days! Everybody ended up coming to my house and we had a really good time! My dog Sam totally embarassed me when she ran right through the screen door from the inside of the house and ended up breaking the door off... Dogs.... The dance recital was really good! My cousins did amazing and I'm so proud of them! My cousin who's a sophmore is soooo tall so it's easy to see her. My other cousin has a dance partner and they do really good in duets (all of this I've heard from my mom who heard it from my grandma who heard it from my aunt.) Anyways... I can't help but think back to when I danced. Of course, I was really bad back then but I still wish I wouldn't have quit. After the recital I went right to soccer practice and IT WAS SO HOT!!!!! The humidity was crazy high and we had to shorten our practice from one and a half hours to one hour. For 20 minutes we stretched and did yoga which was a change and super fun. For the remaining 40 minutes we just did easy drills that wouldn't make us sore for the next day. By the next morning I was so excited for my game. The day went shockingly slower than I anticipated, all that was on my mind was the game ahead of me. The humidity was still really high and I was extremely worried about getting too tired to make my beautiful sprints up the sideline. But when we got to Sonnesyn Elementary we were lucky enough to snag the shaded part of the sideline to warm up in. We were playing the Minnesota Thunder Academy and their team was short players so when we started on the field we had 11 players and they had 8 or 9. We also had 6 subs so we were at an advantage from the start. They eventually got 5 more players throughout the game. But I scored the first goal after getting an amazing cross from the sideline and kneeing the ball just above the goalie's head. LIla ended up getting the last two goals and we won the game 3 to 1. I thought I played okay but I could've done so much better. Today, Tuesday, my mom and I went shopping for a dress for the 8th grade party. I chose a pink strapless ruffled dress from Express and my mom is picking it up from Ridgedale tomorrow! I'm sooooo excited! Lucas said he's going to match with me so I guess he's going to have to wear a pink polo :) but he's being a good sport and saying he's doing it for me! haha he's cute. I have another soccer game tomorrow and I'm pretty nervous. It's against Eden Prairie and they kind of scare me.. I dont know why but they are just very intimidating but I know I'm going to try my absolute best tomorrow. I can't be afraid. I think that's all that happened the last few days... haha well that's all I can remember.
Goal for Tomorrow: My pre-game mantra is "I'm not afraid." Btw... This mantra was inspirted by the new song "Not Afraid" by Eminem so.... yeah :)

Rain, Rain Go Away! Please :)
Well today I had a super duper fun day planned with my buddies Marissa, Lucas, and CJ. But what did I see this morning???? Rainclouds, thunderheads to be exact. I wasn't too happy. Then I heard it would start clearing up by noon. Well the day was icky until about 2 after everybody changed their plans and decided to go to my house. And of course, my mom had something fun planned from 3:30-6 so I couldn't go to the beach with everybody anymore :( but at least my mom is letting me have them over tonight so that makes up for my disappointment this morning! So right now I'm "cleaning" my room and doing laundry. But I also happen to be on my blog so my room is being neglected. Tomorrow I'm going to my cousin Haley and Carley's dance recital so I'm really excited for that and then I'm going to soccer practice to prep for the game on Monday. Well I should probably go give my room some TLC.
Goal for Tomorrow: Enjoy the busy day :)

Shiny Things! :)
Overall, today was a wonderful day :) my rocket went 99 feet when it was supposed to go 100 so I was a little disappointed and I got wet in the process so that was like 1 minute of my life that I will never get back. The rest of the day was great and I borrowed Marissa's purple spandex! haha it was cute. I also got a really super cool shiny bracelet and I'm kinda mad at Mrs. Herrscher for asking me why I was putting shiny duct tape on my forehead because I'm sure she does it all the time??? After school I got to go talk to one of my friends that made me day brighter and right after that I had to rush over to soccer practice where I had to sprint the field 5 times but at least I played good. My ham strings may feel like they are about to snap but its all for the love of soccer! Now I'm just sitting around and procrastinating about taking a shower but it's mandatory because if I went to school tomorrow smelling the way I smell I would have no friends. Luckily life has been drama free for me and I'm loving it. Life is getting so much better and I love the new weather.... Saturday will be amazing :) Keep ya updated!

Small Check Mark on my List :)
WE BEAT ST. MICHAEL!!!!! YES!!!!! 2 to 1 BABY!!!!!! We got two goals thanks to Natalie Roy who took to direct kicks from a couple fouls the other team had. I personally thought I played really well... Some highlights from my game are: my super fast break aways, knocking over a couple fat girls, kicking a ball in a girls face, and having 2 defenders assigned to me. Funniest line from the whole game, "Block number 16! Get in front of her! Don't ever move away from her, she's fast and aggressive! We don't need anymore shots on goal!" And here I am... Number 16 thinking, "Uhhh don't even try! I'm faster and stronger. Thanks! I am fast and I am aggressive, but you guys need shots on goal because you guys are a little on the high end of the scale so the extra workout is like a favor!" You might think this is super mean of me to think but take into account that they were called for pushing and elbowing about every 2 minutes of the game and never stopped. They were an aggressive and mean team. After a really strong game on my half of the field we had to shake hands and a couple girls spit on their hands so.... I can pretty much say whatever I want about them now! But overall I played super well and in our tournament a few weekends ago you could tell that I had taken a year off from soccer, but this time I didn't notice it. I'm trying not to get too cocky though because some teams are a lot better than the one we played. I'm blaming our victory on my new cleats and spandex :) I have soccer practice tomorrow and I really hope Coach Michaela likes what we did! Also, tomorrow I have to shoot off my rocket and I'm a little nervous because I want it to go super far so I get a good grade. Tomorrow overall will just be wonderful day and I'm super duper excited for it. I'll let you know if the day meets up with my expectations :)
Goal for tomorrow: Try my best in soccer practice so I can improve and play even better in our game next monday!

My Day in a Nut Shell :)
Today not too much was on my mind. I started out the day tired... I hate waking up now but I'm petrified of waking up too late to straighten my hair in the morning so I get up in a paniced mood. In advisory we went outside to play kick ball with Mr. Carr's class and Alison and I were the only girls who would play. Note: I was barefoot and Alison was in a dress in flip flops. But nonetheless, we were a valuable asset to our teams. I got out the first time but luckily the second time when I bunted it I got all the way around the bases but not a homerun. The rest of the day went like normal except for my communications speech. I wore black dressy pants and high heel peep toe shoes... Matt Payne said I looked like a mom?? I was thinking have you ever seen a mom dress like this? Uhh.... no! But overall my speech was pretty good and I was surprised that Mr. Carlson wasn't mad about my Republican poster and interesting comments towards Barack Obama. The rest of the day was boring and I just got back from a walk with my mom. I'm about to go eat pizza (my favorite food above all) and then going flower shopping with my grandma that lives 7 doors down. I'm excited because I rarely get time alone with my grandma because her and my sister Abby are really close. Tomorrow I need to leave my house super early so I can go to my soccer game all the way up in St. Michael. The game starts at 6:30 and we need to be there an hour early. Unfortunately, the traffic is sooooo bad getting up there so I need to leave my house between 4:30-4:45 and I probably won't get home until at least 8 at night. Lets hope I dont have any homework!! I'm excited for the game because my daddy is going to be there and for some reason I play more aggressively when he's in the crowd watching. I also get to play my first game with my new Nike yellow soccer shoes which have sharp plastic cleats on the bottom. My cleats have almost injured 2 of my teammates (sorry Alexis and Emily). I'll try to update on the blog about the score and how I played!
Goal for Tomorrow: Beat St. Michael :)

Hello World :)
Hi! My name is Emily, well duh but yeah. I was born on Halloween and most people think that's either super cool or like really weird, but I always hated it because people would say, "Wow, that's so cool! You get candy on your birthday!" It's like... yeah I do, but nowadays people have candy all the time so why is getting it on one day so special? I now love having my birthday on Halloween because nobody has an excuse for forgetting it. I grew up dancing but I'm now a huge fan of soccer. I hate watching it on t.v. or watching other people play but it's really fun when I can play myself. I play forward most of the time which means I get the ball and score. I like playing because it makes me feel really fast and aggressive when I pass/knock over the defense in order to achieve what I wanted. For being 5'1" I'd say I'm a pretty fast sprinter. I usually beat defensive people to the ball and when I don't that's when I get mad and get aggressive. Since I'm a good runner and enjoy running I joined cross country in 7th grade and I think it's really fun. Most people think cross country isn't a sport or that it's super easy but it's not easy by any means. But before I can play sports school has to come first. I've always gotten good grades and I usually live up to my parents expectations (except for getting a C+ in DeVoe's class for like no reason). After school and sports are over my family is my next important thing. My parents love each other and I have a little sister who used to act like me when we were little but now she's very independent and excels at gymnastics. She trains about 4 times a week and now her body is super muscular. All of my grandparents are still alive and I even have a 91? year old great grandma. I have 3 uncles and 2 aunts and from these aunts and uncles I have my cousins: Haley (16), Carley (almost 14), Gabriella (almost 11), Ben (9), Olivia (7), Sophia (4), and Ian (almost 4).
People ask me all the time what my nationalities are so here's the list: British, Czechoslovakian, Polish, Swedish, Norweigian, Austrian, and French-Canadian. But overall, I just refer to myself as an American mutt. In my family we have two dogs who are like my sisters. Samantha Autumn is a 10 year old chocolate labrador and the love of my life. She is my best friend, I can't imagine my life without her. She enjoys long walks and eating cheez-its on the couch with me. Our other dog, Lucy Brady Jane Harlow Winter Kate Madden, is a chocolate lab as well. She's 2 years old and I used to like her. I begged and begged for her but now I get annoyed with her. We adopted her when she was a puppy and she's gotten naughtier by the day. She enjoys long walks, but unfortunately I hate taking her. She might be my friend someday but right now, that's doubtful. Another important thing in my life are my friends. I've always had a tight-knit group of friends throughout elementary school. But moving from Osseo to Wayzata was a change and I bonded better with guys. My bad judgement didn't get me anywhere and now I have a great group of girls that I love very, very much (no homo). My close group of friends are: Marissa, Alison, Lily, Maya, and Kaitlin. They have been there for me through all the bad times and I'm really lucky to know such nice people. Spending time with my girlfriends is probably the highlight of my week. Aside from sports, school, family, and friends I also go to church. I didn't grow up with a religious house but I choose to go to confirmation and sunday services (when I have time). It surprises a lot of people that I choose to go but my church friends are really fun to be around and make the whole church experience more enjoyable. I'm probably forgetting stuff but that's basically my life... more later :)
