You do not have to be your mother unless she is who you want to be.
You do not have to be your mother's mother, or you mother's mother's mother, or even your grandmother's mother on your father's side.
You may inherit their chins or their hips or their eyes, but you are not destined to become the women who came before you, you are not destined to live their lives.
So if you inherit something, inherit their strength.
If you inherit something, inherit their resilience.
Because the only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.

I'm not afraid :)

Wow busy couple days! Everybody ended up coming to my house and we had a really good time! My dog Sam totally embarassed me when she ran right through the screen door from the inside of the house and ended up breaking the door off... Dogs.... The dance recital was really good! My cousins did amazing and I'm so proud of them! My cousin who's a sophmore is soooo tall so it's easy to see her. My other cousin has a dance partner and they do really good in duets (all of this I've heard from my mom who heard it from my grandma who heard it from my aunt.) Anyways... I can't help but think back to when I danced. Of course, I was really bad back then but I still wish I wouldn't have quit. After the recital I went right to soccer practice and IT WAS SO HOT!!!!! The humidity was crazy high and we had to shorten our practice from one and a half hours to one hour. For 20 minutes we stretched and did yoga which was a change and super fun. For the remaining 40 minutes we just did easy drills that wouldn't make us sore for the next day. By the next morning I was so excited for my game. The day went shockingly slower than I anticipated, all that was on my mind was the game ahead of me. The humidity was still really high and I was extremely worried about getting too tired to make my beautiful sprints up the sideline. But when we got to Sonnesyn Elementary we were lucky enough to snag the shaded part of the sideline to warm up in. We were playing the Minnesota Thunder Academy and their team was short players so when we started on the field we had 11 players and they had 8 or 9. We also had 6 subs so we were at an advantage from the start. They eventually got 5 more players throughout the game. But I scored the first goal after getting an amazing cross from the sideline and kneeing the ball just above the goalie's head. LIla ended up getting the last two goals and we won the game 3 to 1. I thought I played okay but I could've done so much better. Today, Tuesday, my mom and I went shopping for a dress for the 8th grade party. I chose a pink strapless ruffled dress from Express and my mom is picking it up from Ridgedale tomorrow! I'm sooooo excited! Lucas said he's going to match with me so I guess he's going to have to wear a pink polo :) but he's being a good sport and saying he's doing it for me! haha he's cute. I have another soccer game tomorrow and I'm pretty nervous. It's against Eden Prairie and they kind of scare me.. I dont know why but they are just very intimidating but I know I'm going to try my absolute best tomorrow. I can't be afraid. I think that's all that happened the last few days... haha well that's all I can remember.
Goal for Tomorrow: My pre-game mantra is "I'm not afraid." Btw... This mantra was inspirted by the new song "Not Afraid" by Eminem so.... yeah :)
