You do not have to be your mother unless she is who you want to be.
You do not have to be your mother's mother, or you mother's mother's mother, or even your grandmother's mother on your father's side.
You may inherit their chins or their hips or their eyes, but you are not destined to become the women who came before you, you are not destined to live their lives.
So if you inherit something, inherit their strength.
If you inherit something, inherit their resilience.
Because the only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.

First Day in California :)

After getting only 4 hours of sleep I had an extremely long morning.... I got up at six and was at the airport around 7:15. All of our unaccompanied minor stuff got screwed up so my mom got stressed out because she was by herself and doesn't really understand the airport. Well a lot of things held us back and we got to the gate right on time. Note to minors... All Delta employees treat you like you are 5 years old. They acted like I've never flown before or seen an airplane. We played "follow the leader" down the boarding tunnel. The flight luckily went by quickly and I met up with my aunty Darlene at the gate :) we went to lunch with her friend Sara who is the funniest 80 year old woman I've ever met. She's got more energy than me! After we got back and unpacked we went to Venice Beach and walked skateboarders in the new skatepark on the beach. After we got bored we walked down the boardwalk and went shopping. I got these really cool heart shaped sunglasses and a tank top that says I <3 L.A. I was really happy about it! Then we hung out at home before we got a pizza at Costco. Dinner was good and then we talked about jewelry which was really fun! I'm having a great time and I doubt I'll be able to leave :)
