Nails, Santa Monica, Pinkberry=LOVE
Yesterday we went to Manhattan Beach to get our nails done! The mall was super nice but the nail place was super busy so we had to leave. We went to lunch at the L.A. Food Show which is made by the California Pizza Kitchen people. Lunch was really good! Then we went to this place called Diane's and looked at the cute swimsuits they had. Then we went to a place in Marina del Ray to get our nails done. My sister and I got a French manicure and my Aunt Darlene got a pedicure. After that we went to the grocery store to get breakfast food. Then we went home and ate dinner. After dinner we watched the movie Valentine's Day. I think Darlene liked it because she laughed at all the good parts. I was exhausted after the movie so I literally passed out in the office and slept for what seemed like days. In the morning I mostly read a book, I'm reading a book called "The Year We Disappeared". It's a non-fiction book about a police officer who gets shot in the face and how his family has to completely change their lifestyle in order to stay safe. The book is really hard to put down. I guess that's the kind of reader I am, once I find a really good book that I like I have the worst time setting it down because I NEED to know what happens next otherwise it drives me crazy. Once I was able to pry the book from my fingertips we took the dogs for a little walk so they could get their exercise. They are littler dogs so they don't need too much, but we just wanted to release some energy. After that, we went down to Santa Monica to th 3rd Street Promenade which is an outdoor mall that has shops that we don't have here in Minnesota. WE GOT SO MUCH STUFF. I'm kind of embarassed now that I look at everything we got. See.... This is a future argument for my parents for us not to move here. I'll totally develop a shopping addiction because the stores we went to had such great deals. Also, the sales tax here is ridiculously high so stuff gets pretty expensive sometimes. The clothes are cheap, its the tax that can drive you crazy. I guess we shopped and spent a lot to relieve our frustration of waiting forever for our food at this one restaurant. Our day was great, we got nice stuff, enjoyed the scenery, made memories, it was hard to believe the day could take such a nasty turn. Abby and I were getting our picture taken in front of this dinosaur sculpture thing that shoots out water by our aunt Darlene. She took the picture with my camera and I wanted a picture of all 3 of us so we asked a guy to take our picture, he agreed, and my aunt put all of her bags, jacket, and purse on the ground behind us. We were kind of in a hurry because the dogs were used to getting fed around 5 and it was approaching 6:30 so we hurried. My aunt didn't notice that she had left her $500 camera that was a birthday present from my uncle Art on the ground. So we left and came home to discover it was nowhere in sight. So we went back to Santa Monica at 8:15 at night (not the best idea because usually gang members get down there around that time). So we went around looking for it but we had no luck. So to cheer us up we went to this place called Pinkberry. It's a frozen yogurt store the celebrities love. You get any flavor you want and put as many toppings as you want on it. It was pretty busy in there and I was terrified of walking back to our car so late at night but it was worth it. The drive home didn't make me feel any better about my safety. We ran into a few rough crowds and I was so happy when I saw my aunt Darlene's house. Man, I feel so safe now typing this on my aunt's macbook in her kitchen. I've got it so good right now. I feel so lucky. Tomorrow the dogs are going to the groomers and after running and running for the past few days I kind of just want to lay around and relax tomorrow. I should probably go eat my Pinkberry now. Update you guys later :)
